stories and days

I'd love it if you could choose the number of stories as well as number of days. Then, If the number of stories in the timeframe selected is greater than the max number of stories allowed, only display the number allowed. There are always those weeks where 20 stories are posted every day, and then those weeks where it's closer to five/day.

And, um.. MeFi is kind of slow in dishin' the pages sometimes...

hmm... I'll think about the max # of stories setting. It seems like it could confuse users when setting their preferences.

The server will be a lot faster next week when I move it to a new box.

Well, there is that. I like the way slashdot has it set up, though, where you can leave it blank and have it only go by timeframe. That way, if it is too confusing, folks can just ignore it. Anyway, just off the cuff. If the server is soon to be faster, that'll solve the original reason for the suggestion, so feel free to ignore it. :)
