If you have ominous suspicions about someone's motive for posting, it's preferable you send an email or start a MetaTalk thread rather than starting an off-site thread unbeknownst to the poster.

If you think that's something, drop into #mefi sometime, jenleigh.

Seemed like he was soliciting opinions from those who would likely know what he was talking about. Wasn't a call to arms or anything. He expressed a notion.

Lame, utterly unsurprising, and a little bit cheap.

Why is a thread on another site being called out here?

Isn't this something that should be addressed on MetaChat where it was posted in the first place? I don't participate on MetaChat and don't care what is posted there -- if I did, care that is, I would read the site.

In related news... some guy on #mefi was mean to me... can someone do something about it please?

Because the callout on Metachat concerned a post on Mefi.
It's all very incestuous, you know. ;-P

That's not a bug, it's a feature.

I should clarify what I said about #mefi. It was hyperbole and a bad hypothetical (read as: entirely made up). Though limited, my interactions with the denizens of #mefi have been overwhelmingly positive.

cedar: too late, you broke the rule, you spoke about the place that should not be spoken about, now just shut up and accept the inevitable beat-down.

Gosh, I guess that everyone should be told when they're being talked about.

Apologies to everyone here, my girlfriend, and everyone I work with.

Let's see--metafilter to metachat to metatalk and then back to... metachat
--that crosses over from incest into some kind of Wilbur Whateley territory.

Ouroboros 9622, this is air traffic control...
