And on my deathbed do I want to say, I sipped mightily of Metafilter, and saw many video clips that made fun of Rosie O'Donnell, and I am richer for it?

A good piece from Paul Ford on distractions, including the mighty 'Filter.

She looks pretty good here... what's to make fun of?

Isn't that Margaret Atwood?

I kid.

also, I agree with this guy. I find that in order to get any writing done I basicaly have to unplug my wireless router, so that if I do want to get online I've got to get up and go to another room.

Also, Rosie O'Donnell Anecdote.

apparently she'll run into people who say things like I don't mean to offend you, but you kind of look like Rosie O'Donnell

Am I alone, here, with the answer of Yes?

So luddite is the new technophile?

What about the new "is the new" phrase? Do we have a replacement for that yet?

Holy cow, gas is expensive...

Well, Plutor, ftrain's link made me feel a little richer. Also snarky and superior, which is the way I like it. Plus a little queasy, but that's only to be expected. Rosie is often prescribed as an emetic. Ask your doctor about Rosie. Side-effects may include deafness, and unplugging your wireless router.

Ouch.

So if you ever meet Rosie, don't say that if you don't want her to run into you. That could be fatal.

I like Rosie (though I don't watch her show), but Dave Chappelle's photo-flip of her at the Player Hater's Ball made me laugh so hard.

"Now there's a man I'd hate to fight."
"She wears underwear with dickholes in 'em!"

It's not a video clip, but it is a fond memory.

HA! I get it. zing!!

'cause she's fat, right?
posted by soyjoy at 8:06 PM on October 14, 2005

Yes, because she's fat.

Trust me, you wouldn't want me running into you either, and I would (and have) told similar jokes about myself.
posted by kindall at 8:12 PM on October 15, 2005

Teh funny really wasn't that Rosie is fat, but that kindall was exploiting the ambiguity of the sentence. Jesus fuckin' A. Christ. Soyjoy's comment was funny because of its irony. If anyone else needs any help, I'm here all week. Try the veal.
