Specially marked AskMe answers by the original asker December 21, 2005 11:06 PM   Subscribe

I haven't been around too long, but I did a search for this and it didn't come up....
Does anybody like the idea of the OP in an AskMe thread "standing out" from the rest of the comments, much like a best answer? That way, I could scroll through the comments and quickly see any follow-ups.

like how it works on the My Posts/My Comments pages?

I think it's come up before. I think one of the prevailing opinions was that it's not that hard to just scan for the name of the poster, or in dire straights use your browser's Find function.

If it didn't come up before and that wasn't a prevailing opinion, well, shit: I guess it's just my opinion.

btw, I hope "OP" doesn't become another cryptic phrase people throw around.

Let alone OPP.

Yeah if the original poster's comments are shaded, and the best answer comments are shaded, then we have to start shading the other comments so they don't feel left out. meh.

Me too. There's only one poster, for goodness sake. Amazing that folk have managed to come up with an acronym that makes even less sense than 'FPP'.

Yeah, "OP" is really cryptic. Better add that to the Wiki. By the way the ACRONYM tag is great.

Lord help us, folk are using it to mean Original Post, as well as Original Poster.

I propose that any user using OP from this point forward be banned and/or infected with a terrible lurgy.

I like that idea a lot. I often find myself looking for more information from the original poster, and would love those posts to be highlighted--but in a different color than best posts.

OP has long been popular on some other boards.
