Thank you, Metafilter community! January 24, 2006 9:57 AM   Subscribe

Once again, Metafilter has made an impact on my personal life. I came here to say: "Thank you, Metafilter community." I also came here to say: "Who bought the donuts, and why didn't I get any Boston creams?", but felt it was out of the scope of this post. [more inside]

In the thread, I describe how, under duress of work and familial obligations, I hadn't had an opportunity to schedule a nice birthday for my wife. Luckily, the Metafilter crack team was there to remind me that NUDITY was cheap and easy, and that I was cheap and easy, and therefore I needed to provide her with a proper birthday melding those two concepts.

Well, I'd like to report that we spent Saturday on a date, seeing Brokeback Mountain, and then Sunday on a date with the kids seeing The Producers. For the evening's entertainment, I took her to a local dive called Restaurant Magnus and spent a disgusting amount of money feeding her. She really appreciated it.

More importantly, I appreciated it. I wanted to drop you folks a note and let you know that.

Apparently, my post came through without a link.

Rock on! Glad to hear the MeFi Corps was able to help out (even though I was totally not a part of this in the least).

Where was the cheap and easy nudity? Hmpf.

Ooh, the Magnus is one of my favorite restaurants.

I don't understand, how is this going to result in a flameout? And who is leaving and positively never coming back? This is a poor excuse for a MetaTalk thread, I demand more blood!

where did the NUDITY come in?

Over this, maybe.

You did that all nude?

You needed mefi help in choosing the movie/dinner date option? I'm doing all that tonight...on my own!

This post still lacks tie ins with nudity despite repeated pressing of refresh button. I want my $5 back.
I didn't have anything to contribute to your post, but I'm happy it turned out superfab.

Well, excuu-uuse me!

You paid $5 for the privilege of posting one question a week, and then you get your answer and don't show us the promissed nudity? That's just rude.

I didn't contribute to the askme thread, but I *did* run the projector.

Nudity and Brokeback Mountain together in the same concept conjure up some very disturbing visuals.

All the women I know luuuuurve the ol' Brisk Rogering.

Damn, I wish that were my alias. "Brisk Rogering, Star of Stage and Screen!"

Am I the only one that finds it interesting that Roger Dodger is the one posting about dodging rodgering?

Say that three times fast.

Boston cremes don't work for ring toss. At least not without some sloppy modifications. Which is its own fun, I guess.

Nudity and Brokeback Mountain together in the same context conjure up some very hawt visuals.
