MeFi Fantasy BB Update: We're looking for 3 owners to take over for certain folks who have abandoned their teams after less than a month. They're all "fixer-upper" teams, but two are currently in 6th & 7th (out of 12) place.

Just a warning, there's no way you'll ever see first place. No way. I mean, welcome aboard.

I'll take them.

I'm the Texas Rangers of the league, all stick, no pitching. +9 last night Mr.Spaulding, I'm a comin'.

You're all talk loquax, although I did finally drop below 100 for the first time all year. Just 17 more points to go.

Can you post more details, in particular which site and format you're using? I am a longtime fantasy player who could take over and commit to sticking with the team.

Sorry - I see in an earlier post that it's at Yahoo and it's a roto league. I'll take over a team if there's one available. I'd prefer #2 then #1 then #3.

5x5 Roto, standard cats, 1250 IP limit. We're using Yahoo. I think the only non-standard rule is an extra added pitcher and DL position. I have discretionary veto power as commish (haven't used, probably never will, but mob rule is a big FBB problem IMO).

BTW, first two teams are 6th & 7th, respectively, and 3rd team is in last. The rest of us are fairly active. Even the last place team could do well with an active manager and a couple trades.
8 of the teams are within 15 points of each other.

What about the 40/40 jigger? Are pony rides penalized? Do you use the 1995 or the 2003 proxy-rule standards?

Hey, I was DFL and am now 5th with a bullet, so anything's possible. Also, I'm looking to trade for starting pitching, so if we do get some new managers who need to make trades, take a look over my roster (12 Inches of Jesus) and let me know.

I sent a mail for the third team. I'm already active in another Yahoo league where I'm hovering between 1st/2nd/3rd places and am stuck in conservative mode. It would be fun to have a team at the bottom where I could really gamble with some crazy moves.

Is the league one of those leagues where everyone changes their rosters multiple times every week to get platoon advantages and pick up extra innings?

If so, you guys should consider that fantasy baseball is more fun if you're not all OCD about it.

If not, I'd love to have the third team.

If you need an owner, I'm definitely interested. Only running two teams this season...

I have no idea what that means, tho I assume 40/40 refers to 40 HR/40 SB? What's a jigger? What's a pony ride? The proxy-rule refers to the DH? But we only score hitting and base-running, so I don't see how this applies. Someone help me out, here, pretty much a roto baseball n00b.

I can say that I have something of an OF platoon that I rotate through. There is a max inning count on the OF, though (and I'm pretty sure its just 162 x 3) So I'm not really picking up any extra innings, just front-loading the part of the season those innings come from. It always seems like two of the five are either injured or in a slump, (earth to Scott F'ing Posednik?). anyway.

He's being investigated for 'roids. Yes, but only in the bottom half of the sixth in away games thrown by lefties during months with an 'r' in them. Refer to the RFC.

I suppose someone will email the people selected? I'm in if there's space - I already keep track of things pretty closely for the points league I'm in and another roto league I'm in as well.

Wow. Lose my internet for a couple weeks after moving, and my team got taken away from me. 20 games in to a 162 game season. That's some serious bullshit.

rollbiz- Sorry, bro, we tried contacting you. Don't worry, your team's not going anywhere. Next time, let someone know you're going to be offline for so long. A lot happens in a month.

For that matter, I don't think anyone's team is going anywhere, since I can't seem to figure out any way to re-assign a team. Sorry, folks :(.

Apologies accepted and offered from this side as well. Sorry if I seemed moody in the post or my email, it's a sore subject. I definitely didn't expect the delay, although in a town where Charter has a cable monopoly I suppose I should've. At any rate, I'm back and ready to propel the Wicked Awesomes to new heights. Like 11th.

Sorry rollbiz, I don't think any of us meant to get rid of someone who wanted to stay in. Glad to have you back.
