Neato. ND¢ posts a nifty link to a guy playing the Star Wars theme on the banjo.

This bluegrass/scifi combonerd turns out to be willc, who, bucking the trend of notables who sign up after catching wind of the metabuzz, is a pre existing member (not a very active member, but one with whom I'd be honored, if somewhat unqualified to pick).

Not to take an iota away from his banjo playing, but having a video up on YouTube doesn't really make one notable. The content puts him ahead of that self-immolating guy in the banana suit, or the brooding emo kid complaining about all the hateful comments they got for their last brooding emo kid complaining video, I'll grant you. But it's not like he was on America's Most Wanted Talented Police Chase Funniest Home Videos or anything.

Metafilter: ahead of that self-immolating guy in the banana suit.

The best part of that thread:

Metafilter: They paved paradise and put up a snarking lot.

I suppose that's right, crunchland. "Notable" may have been the wrong choice of words. I really meant "the subject of the FPP."

This has surely happened before, but this is the first time I've seen it happen unwittingly.
