Many Americans probably go "Dave who?", but as I said just before he commented (to my mild embarrassment, 'cause I hate being a fanboy), he rocks. If you haven't heard of his various series on TV and radio in the UK, you might have seen him on his 2 or 3 recent appearances on the Daily Show.

Fair play to him. I love the fact he 'fesses up that he's on here wasting time and avoiding work. That's exactly what I use MeFi for.

I suggest we keep a close eye on him. He's only made one comment and his URL on his profile page is to a website promoting his commercial ventures. I smell a possible self-linker.

Nah, seriously though, I don't. I think it's cool that one of my fave Daily Show 'semi-regulars' popped in to clear up the record. Let's start a thread about Richard Clarke. It'd be way cool to have a MeFi level convo with that dude.

I do know Dave, a little bit, and wondered if he might pop by and visit the thread. In fact I wondered if he might already be a Mefi member. He's the kind of guy who might.
