Was there a torrent site link deleted from this thread? September 25, 2006 12:44 PM   Subscribe

Was there a torrent site link deleted from this thread? It seems kind of inconsistent to link to a streaming site but not a torrent site, both are just as infringing. Also, do we still need the warning about Israel/Lebanon on the posting page? The war has been over for a while.

just google "robotolabs" if you really need them. (is it wrong to say that?)

Yeah, but it seems like there's a big difference between "streaming" ROMs to play in a browser and streaming video. There's no legal difference between streaming and downloading to save.

The thing with video games is that they're old and no one really cares very much, while with something that's being sold on DVD, well, I doubt fox's lawyers are going to care that "it's only in a browser".

I mean, from a legal perspective, my understanding is that both links are legal. The only thing you can get in trouble for is linking to DRM circumvention tools (2600 was ordered by a court to remove hyperlinks to DeCSS, they complied by converting the links to plaintext URLs).

It bugs me because only being able to stream is just such a tease. I mean if I don't have time to watch all the videos how, I'm screwed because obviously the site is going to get shut down pretty quickly, whereas if I could download them, I could watch the shows when I had spare time.

the thread explained how to save the streams too. it may have been a tedious process.

Btw, how is that post editing feature coming?

Oh man, if we could edit our posts, people would have a totally different impression of me.

We needed the warning before the war, those disussions almost nver go well. I think the front page has been better since it went up.

Hey, it's your fault you still allow the "." character.

All the more reason not to post about it.

It's probably best to close this thread, since it's resolved. Everyone's been civilized so far... perhaps too civilized. It's making me nervous.
