"it requires registration and i'm not willing to get one for the paper"

This in response to a "Big Brother" FPP in which I included a username and password IN THE POST ITSELF for those who don't want to register themselves.

Can't people read?

Metatalk has gone from a place to discuss MetaFilter's policy in general to a place to discuss MetaFilter's users in general to a place to discuss a subset of MetaFilter's users (14+ers) to a place to call out individual users to a place to discuss a single oversite by a single user. Good gravy.

Some people scan. I don't read word for word, I can't. I scan, so I could see how this might happen. I also never listen to entire conversations, I scan spoken word. Surprisingly, I get the point about 80-90% of the time while taking in 20-30% of the information. I'm happy with that ratio.

Also, some people might be having a bad day.

Oh yes, people make mistakes, too.

Those are three reasons I can think of...

sorry that i didn't read every word that you wrote, irontom. you posted your ire only seconds after i pointed out my mistake. i appreciate the brief rockstardom that comes with being wrongfully called out, though, so thanks for that.

my brief rockstardom is about to fade faster than david cassidy's career on account of all the metatalk threads. thank you all, both of you, though i will only autograph your middle fingers. for as you show your friends my fine autograph, you shall also humorously give them the middle finger.
