Dreama is on Jeopardy tonight, on now! (I think)
Perhaps the closest I'll ever get to that show.
GO Dreama!

And, at the conclusion of the first half (is it called "Single Jeopardy?" -- I don't know), she's kicking some major hiney. Go Dreama!

Oooh, tough break at the end on a tricky Final Jeopardy question. She was leading for the majority of the game though. I'm TiVo'ing it; I'll gladly share the file if Dreama doesn't mind.

I want to see it if Dreama doesn't mind. I have no idea when Jeopardy is on in my area...so it must be sometime during the day. I wanna see, I wanna see!

OK, find her and get clearance! :)
p.s. Sorry for spoiling the ending for any west coast watchers. I'm so eastern-time-zone-centric.

boomchicka - on her LJ, Dreama was looking for someone who could help her get a digital copy to share in various ways. Email her, I think she'd appreciate the help.

It was great - she did a really good job, was leading for most of it. And she said "let's make it a true daily double, Alex!" which earns her my eternal respect and awe.
There's a photo of her with Alex on her flickr account.
It was the weirdest ending we've ever seen on Jeopardy, the winner only got $1200! Great show though, very fun to watch.

Wow, I feel like a(n extraordinarily) minor celebrity. Thank you all for watching, and thank you riffola for the reminder thread.
Boomchicka, I've e-mailed you, a digital file would be super splendiferous. I've got friends in the UK and Australia who want to see my tragedy firsthand. *snort*
I'm hoping to be able to wrap my brain around writing an essay about the Jeopardy experience in the not so distant future. I'll publish it publicly on my livejournal, if anyone's interested.

Weird! I honestly watched Jeopardy! tonight and wondered to myself when the mefites I remembered having mentioned that they'd be on the show were going to appear. I think I'm psychic.
Also, as a Jeopardy! vet who missed one final J question and was offstage without any money for another- and someone who's living in a certain 2-word college town- boy did I feel for everybody on that last question!
Great job, Dreama!

yes Matt, it is on ABC KATU 2 (cable 4?) in Portland and was pre-empted by the NBA finals. I hate when that happens.

No way, that was Dreama? Cool!
Tough luck, though. That was one of the closer games this season, with everyone pretty much neck-and-neck until FJ. I watch Jeopardy religiously (well, my SO does--I stream out answers from the study), and was also stumped by the FJ question.
This season has seen a lot of close endings where everyone got the question wrong, and the "winner" was just the pussy who risked the least in FJ. I hate that. Good job with the TRUE Daily Double!

Congrats, Dreama. For reference, here's the j-archive of the show. Summary: Dreama (Elaine! Now we know!) was in the lead at the end of the Jeopardy round and in a fairly close third at the end of Double Jeopardy. The Final Jeopardy answer was a triple-stumper, and she ended up in third with $1 and a photo with Alex.

Well, actually I ended up with a Jeopardy tote bag (that I now use when I go to the library) a photo of Alex with a spiffy Jeopardy branded frame to display it and $930. The 3rd place finisher gets $1,000 but California has a 7% tax that they apply to all game show winnings of out of state contestants. (Sucks to be KenJen on that score.)
Two funny things: Donna Brutkoski got $2,000 for coming in second, and Mike Bober, who won, got $1,201 for the victory. Oops! Also, I taped the episode back in December of 2004, but the airing was delayed thanks to the tournament of uberchampions thing. And now I won't get my money until September of this year, because it's not sent until 90 days after your (last) air date. Actually that's not so much funny as sad, come on Jeopardy people, send me my money!
PhatLobley, the funny thing is that my godmother and her family lived in Ann Arbor and it was the first place I was ever taken for a visit as a baby. I have friends at the University there now. But the college part of the category threw all three of us, we were all so focused on thinking about where colleges were that we didn't pay attention to the question (answer) itself.
To add insult to injury, we found out during the after-game chat that Alex told the writers that they should change the category; it was originally U.S. Cities. He encouraged them to add "College" to the category because he thought it was too vague. We were all ready to throw him off the stage when he told us that!
ColdChef, I'm 7 months pregnant, so if you have some means by which you could take over gestation of this child until mid-September, my aching hips will be quite happy with you. Call me!
Thanks for the welcome, briank. Who else is in the group? I knew but I have pregnancy brain.
As for Elaine, well, my full legal name is:
______ Elaine ______ ________ Thacker ___________ and I don't go by Elaine or use Thacker in any other aspect of life. It's my nom-de-jeopardy! So you know, and yet, you don't. But I answer to Elaine because it's what my mother always called me when she was angry with me as a child. *snort*

m3dia, Final Jeopardy was: This 2-word city is named for the founders' wives (they had the same name) & the natural groves found there.
Question: What is Ann Arbor?
Alternate Answer: This 2-word city stumped all three Jeopardy players and Dreama will never visit there again, dammit.
