responses above pullquotes August 15, 2005 9:27 PM Subscribe
The trippy CaptainTripps has decided he needs to post his responses above his pullquotes.
Oh, good god. Every response is posted above what he is responding to.
What a wanker.

I for one cautiously, skepticly ponder the ramifications of this new Teh H4wTn3s5 in postine style.
It certianly is hard to follow... so I guess that's a plus.

Yeah, CaptainTrippy is annoying, but not totally distracting from one of the more interesting discussion threads we've had lately. As a Relatively Dumb American, I'm getting better view of the Canadian side to these issues, which I will put into use when I sneak over the border next year...
Oh, and good contributions, angrybeaver, but one question: Are you Norbert or Daggett?

This is way more annoying than the its/it's thing, so yes, I think the virtriol is desrved, especially when it was pointed out and he shrugged his shoulders.

Dammit, I gotta get used to this new keyboard. As I was saying...
"...unlike anything I've seen before, even on Usenet."
Even during the worst flamefests over post-above versus post-below on the usenet, I've never seen anyone actually use post-above when they're sprinkling their comments through the pullquote.

"sprinkling their comments through the pullquote" just has to be a euphemism for something.

Thank you wendell. I'm not Norbert nor Daggett, no idea who they are. I'm actually quite relieved and surprised that I didn't get eviscerated for posting fairly strong comments as a newbie poster.
Captaintripps' postings are actually quite readable if one reads them from the bottom up.

Yes.

As long as your coherent and aren't being a fool you won't get flack here just because your a newbie.
troybob writes "it would be really cool if thread comments showed up with the newest ones on top and the oldest on the bottom..."
No, it wouldn't. It would discourage reading the previous comments before posting. And it's practically impossible to read the thread in chronological order under such presentation. I guess it's OK if you compulsively hit refresh in a thread or it on a site that receives 3 comments a day but here not so much.
