Netscape 6.1 bug: using the browser's back button from inside a thread gives you a popup window asking if you want to download a file of type called "text/html, text/html from http://www.metafilter.com". You have to use the "home" button to get back to the front page, and then scroll down to get back to where you were.

Disappearing comments in Netscape 4.78: when I post a comment to MeFi, it doesn't appear until I force the page to reload. When I post a comment to MeTa, it disappears completely! Obviously, I'm posting this with a different browser.

When I try to post something on AOL or Netscape (v. 6.0), why don't I get the settings on the post box that I do on MS Explorer? Like the Bold, Italics or link button? Also, Ctrl + Shft and T (for italics) or Ctrl + Shft + B (for bold) doesn't work either.

Users can't preview or post comments in Netscape 6x. When you click the preview button the preview, form field and form button areas show up blank. I've experienced this on NS6.1 and NS6.2 on both MetaFilter and MetaTalk. This has only been happening over the past few days. (I think this bug may be related to
this bug, but I'm not sure. For some reason I can't view source on the preview page.)

How about a standards-compliant version of
MetaFilter or
MetaTalk?
Disclaimers: (1) ignominious self-link; (ii) tested in Internet Explorer 5.1 and Netscape 6, should work in all CSS-compliant browsers; (c) guaranteed to look hideous in Netscape 4 et al; (IV) XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS validated by W3C.

I'm getting an error when I try to go to metafilter.com. It says "The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of (#cookie.user_ID#), occupying document position (230:173) to (230:188)." I'm getting this from Netscape 4.76 for the Mac. But not for IE 5 for the Mac.

In-thread graphics always get wonky on my Mac's Netscape. In this case, it's the
Amazon graphic. Not only does it cover up other text, but it doesn't let me click on it. Any chance a plan-text link can be posted?

I run at work on a crappy computer with Netscape 4.5 (ewww)and have noticed recently that when I preview a comment of mine, not only is there no editing text below the preview (it was like that before), but now when I hit "back" it loses what I typed. To make it suck even more, I copy my previous text from the preview and paste it in the text box and it is unformatted and I have to go fix spaces and line breaks. What gives?
