Texas Meetup

Dallas Fort/worth meetup? I'll be in the area from the 23rd to the 26th. Anybody feel like getting together?

Being in the middle of Iowa, I have no experience with this type of thing, but Dallas is a pretty big city and I'll be there over thanksgiving break. Anyone interested? If no one can think of a better venue, perhaps we could meet in that giant rotating sky-ball?

Yeah, I'd probably come if there was to be a meetup.

The skyball (reunion tower) is well known but I don't know that it'd be the best place to meet. There are lots of great restuarants, bars, etc, that might be more casual. Someplace quietish might be nice. I don't have any place to suggest right off the bat.

I'll be around, but mad busy. Not exactly sure what my schedule that week is going to look like, but my best guess is that I could do either a late lunch or early beer or two in the mid-afternoon of the 25th or 26th, preferably somewhere in Lakewood. Can I toss out maybe Cosmo's or the Tip? Any takers? I'll know more about my availability next week, but things can (and likely will) pop up.

Unfortunately, I have to go to Atlanta to my wife's sister's house for Thanksgiving. I will be leaving that Tuesday night and returning on Sunday. I extend my regrets to not being in town then.

As to scarabic: I see you are in Dallas. If you are able to see this, I'd be happy to buy you a drink this afternoon around 4:30-5 to 7ish. And the offer extends to anyone else. If you are interested, I'm buying around that time in the West End (downtown Dallas). Just drop me an e-mail or post here.

I wish I could take you up on that, dios, but what I meant above was that my flight doesn't get in to Dallas until really late tonight. I have something to do for work tomorrow then I'm right back outta there in the evening. I need to work in time for meetups on these godforsaken work trips.

I leave town the 24th. Could do something the night of the 23rd. But, if forced to choose between me and Ufez, take Ufez -- he's much more MeFi than me.

I might be able to do something both the 23rd and the 25-6. I'll be on 'vacation' so my schedule is wide open (although I assume I'll be busy on the 24th itself)
