Post recall: standarized test scores by state June 8, 2006 11:27 AM   Subscribe

Looking for a link that was posted somewhere on the blue...

In connection with this Ask post, I am looking for a site that was linked on MetaFilter a few months ago that allowed you to search standardized test scores by high school or by state. standardized test -election -president failed me. As did a del.icio.us search. As did various Google searches. Help would be appreciated and repaid in golden thoughts made of the finest silks which are gold.

Was this site linked in the initial post, or somewhere in the comments? I can't find it either, and I need some golden thoughts made of gold things.

That part I can't remember. I do remember that it had a search feature and also a klunky drop-down menu based navigation system where you chose a state and then chose a high school.

Well, there was this metatalk thread, which leads, through some linkage, to this by-state SAT/ACT chart. No drop-downs in sight, though.

Nah, I seem to recall this site being some sort of collaboration by school districts. It was billed as a way for parents, teachers, and others involved in education to guage individual schools and how they perform on NCLB accredited standardized testing. It might even be a gov site though it's more likely a org.

Still not the post you're looking for, but here are detailed per-state reports (but still no district/school granularity).

In fact, tromping around on the collegeboard site (in more detail than I'm willing to at the moment) might turn up at least the data you're looking for—stands to reason that any other site built on such data would have to get it from them, initially.

Thanks cortex, it isn't the site I was looking for but it has the data and as we all know, the data is all that matters in this world.

Well, and puppies. Data and puppies—that's the secret to happiness.

Et voila.

Actually, the link in the post I referenced is dead now, but it was IQ by state, which isn't exactly what you were looking for, regardless. No points for jonson!
