I love it when people mess with stuff like this. It reminds you that there are people behind the things that you take for granted.

Dunno. It's still appropriate. Perhaps sadly, perhaps not.

I dunno. Sure, pumpkins are cute, at first, but they are the original slippery slope (ever clean one?). It's a short slide into devil worship, voodoo, and General Uncleanliness (capitalized because this is my dog's name). Every reputable phrenologist I know who has examined a pumpkin has concluded that not only are they evil, they are also likely to be orange. Most pumpkins come from a place called a patch, and we all know the unsavory associations that word conjures.
I just don't think it is ever appropriate to exalt a squash.
If I ever have kids, you can bet I won't subject them to a holiday ritual which involves eviscerating a dying vegetable, cutting whimsical patterns into its collapsing exoskeleton, and setting its phantom innards afire. No matter how evil, or how orange, the vegetable is, it should not have to endure such barbaric indignity.
Pray for the pumpkins.

For more transformations, see Zannah and Scott. (Of course, you will have had to have been to their sites to see the difference...)

Fuck that shit, gleuschk! Pumpkin (aka orange, the new orange, the new blue, the coolest color on the web) is a major theme year-round at my digs...

You are both vicious bastards (in a nice friendly way, that is). Especially you, po. People who do that would kick puppies. Or at least paint them garish colors and laugh when they are shunned by the other animals in the windowbox at the pet store.

It says "forget about politics" because it was just a few days before the election last year, and MetaFilter was deep in "Nader! Nader! Nader!" battles at the time. I would have changed the text, but I couldn't find the original file I used to create it, so I left it as is. It's kind of funny, as a period piece.
