are you sure that's the right link? I get a "not found" error. I can fix it if you can get me the proper link.

Hmmm. Worky fine for me. Don't know why it is screwy. Would love for someone else to check to be sure...

Can also be found by navigating to page three from this page, if the other linked is borked. This one should be fuss-free.

Hmm, the Verizon default DNS I was using wouldn't recognize qwip.org at all but I changed servers and I see them just fine. Thanks!

Damn you Verizon! Damn you to hell!

(glad it worked out)

Took three tries for my DNS to find ya good in the end. What's the story on those funky glasses?

Very nice pics - what an attractive crew, but y'all look too serious, what's up with that? I see no blackmail material here. More beer next meetup!

That's so weird! We *do* look serious! I promise it wasn't like that on the day. Mr w-g and I were tired from running that morning, but we still managed to put down about four schooners each (and I think we were among the lightweights of the group).

Thanks for putting the pics up, qwip! I had a great time meeting everybody.

(a schooner is like half a half a quart, or something).

that was a bunch of fun. great to meet everybody :) - and does the pub trivia idea have any legs?

ps - curious as to how qwip managed to photoshop those maturity lines onto my forehead...?

1950s Chinese tank-driver goggles :)

I like to think they were used in the invasion liberation of Tibet.

We need to find a place with good (ie not franchised) trivia. We used to do the one at Kelly's on King every week. The guy there wrote it himself and was pretty good at keeping it honest. I may try to investigate and see if it's still going...

Hi Wolof! Any chance of coming over to Sydney?

Heh - scamming the trivia nights was one of the funnier things I heard all week. What next? Corrupt spelling bees? It sounds like it could make a fun short story or film - all the teams at the trivia night have been jotting down the answers from the other pubs & everybody knows it (except for the reader or viewer, initially). The problem is, they cannot risk scoring 100% (too obvious), but still need to get more than the opponents. Much poker-esque bluffing ensues. In between rounds, opponents form collusive alliances at the bar, then proceed to backstab each other. Messages are passed via hilariously wrong answers.

Wednesdays are best for me, but mondays are OK at a pinch.

Thanks for posting these qwip. It was great to see you all.
I used to go to a good trivia night on Wednesday's at the Union. We never won but did come away with a few runner-up tin trays. It is franchised though.

web-goddess, I strolled past the store on my way back from work tonight. Caught "Kathy" the bare-nippled needle-point image in the window. Don't know how I could have possibly missed that the first time. (and I think that phrase may be a first for the internets).

It was a lot of fun, and Ms. qwip thought all of you were not nearly as geeky as she had anticipated. Don't know if that is a good thing or not.

It was good to meet the gang here in town finally, and it was my first meet-up to boot. Glad the pictures, although documenting a more serious air, went over well.

And Ubu, those goggles kicked ass.

It's a real bastard that I couldn't go, but sure sounds (pictures aren't working for me, you see) that you lot had a good time.

This talk of trivia has my ears burning however. If you lot don't mind I'd love to hear if any of this is taking place. That is if you want some snot-nosed university git hanging around. Hint: The correct answer is no but you're gonna answer yes.

coincidentally, i answered a random invite for trivia at the very same location on monday night. along with a team of snot-nosed biochem nerdstudents, we managed to come a very close second. if only any of us had been able to identify even one of five baywatch characters, we would have won. dunno if this is gonna be a regular thing, tho.

Ahh, see, crappy American popular culture is my THING. I would've rocked that category!

I can also name all the US States and capitals, which often comes in handy at Aussie trivia...

they often throw in tallahassee, coz it's a bit of a trick one.

we did get the capital of montenegro! :)
