How useful would a "Search Users" function be? You could search for a particular username, or location, or whatever. There have been times where I wondered how many people were from a particular city (or at least owned up to it in their user profile). How difficult and/or useful would something like this be?

(BTW, Matt, the copyright at the bottom of MeTa still says 2000.)

searching by username is simple: type www.metafilter.com/username.mefi/ into your URL bar. as for by location, well, wax would be the person to talk to about that. (eventually, he would be.)
