Apology owed. I came up with a turn of phrase I liked, and happily noted that it had been marked as a favorite by 3 others.
I figured maybe I had just created a slogan. Then I googled it.
Turns out it's been said before, which is fine. It's not particularly profound--any reasonably geeky person discussing this issue might use the phrase. But it's even been said on AskMe before.
Apologies to Teece, and those who saved it.
I also didn't kill 24 people in the caves of Tibet.

You make me sick.

Phred182, here's the short, sane response:
Favorites are not a binding contract, nor an implicit endorsement of anything other than someone liking (or disliking, or merely finding notable or worth future reference for whatever mysterious purpose) something you wrote.
So there's no one to apologize to, and no implied transgression of plagiarism or whatever.
This Metatalk thread hence doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense. However, this seems to be the weird faux pas blip on an otherwise well-balanced and positive history of contributions to the site, so you don't really deserve any vituperative replies. But take it easy, cowboy.
~FIN~
And now, the long, insane, gif-laden response will proceed.

this makes no sense, and there will be no gif-laden response.
