How adorable is that? Is it new, or is it just that i've never gone a week without posting something? : >

I am the wrong person to ask. I've definitely never seen it.

Not new.

I've never heard or seen such inexcusable nonsense. I don't believe you. I demand a screenshot.
posted by loquacious at 7:14 PM on October 19, 2006

Nope, not new. I was a little alarmed to see it myself recently. Does that mean I have a life now?
posted by loquax at 7:16 PM on October 19, 2006

I think you realize that the people that read MetaTalk are about the least likely to ever see that message.

That is, unless you're talking about those so hard core that they have a fleet of sockpuppets ready to pounce on any occasion, and in that case, sure, maybe.
posted by Rhomboid at 7:19 PM on October 19, 2006

I didn't even know that existed. I think the person that helped me with the programming of the page left that in there.

It's only for amberglow, jonmc, and delmoi.

I keed of course.

The tiniest dash of humor sprinkled upon the heart of a cold machine goes a long, long way. Reminds me how much I miss the old taglines :)

What? I often go without commenting. Where do you see it?
posted by Roger Dodger at 7:49 PM on October 19, 2006

I've never seen it, either. I suggest for amberglow, jonmc, and delmoi, there be an equal and opposite message.
posted by crunchland at 7:57 PM on October 19, 2006

uh... except for amber, who apparently saw the message in the first place.

First mentioned here when mathowie launched the My Comments page.

I see it all the time, for what seems like quite a while now. I think this means I'm a lurker.

This has been mentioned recently.

Hey amberglow, I was just thinking about you wondering where you'd been. Was gonna send you an email, actually. Glad to see you're alright.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to the taglines? I sorta miss them.

Me too, jamesonandwater. Yet we are lurkers who read MetaTalk... what does that say?

We shall both adopt the tagline
Metafilter: I can't think of anything to say at the moment.

I don't think there'll be many other takers.

I've gone that long without commenting & have never seen that either... where does it show up?

On the MY COMMENTS page, apparently.

This is much needed.

The funny thing is, you could post an FPP every single day for a year, post to MeTa and AskMe at every conceivable occasion, yet never comment on anything, and it would *still* tell you that you need more MeFi in your life.

Clearly, that is because MetaFilter is about the comments!

I see that message all the time, and I mostly read MetaTalk.

The good thing is that after this comment I won't see it for a week. W00t!
