Deja vu.

Not really a callout, just a whaaaaaaa? Also, the user profile is fascinating reading.

Whoa... when did the user profile page change?

I can't see anything on there apart from the fact he wants to buy stuff in china and sell stuff in Brazil (but apparently hasn't considered shipping from China to Brazil yet. Maybe that's question number 4...)

Hmmm... I reckon this person's just got a one-track mind. Twice.
posted by flapjax at midnite at 2:24 AM on December 11, 2006

I think his mind is skipping on that one track.

This is odd.

Yeah, I think this is pretty odd.

I'm going to Aruba in a week. How can I get in on some of this hot black/grey-market action?
posted by Eideteker at 6:27 AM on December 11, 2006

That's weird. I removed some of the snarky comments. Maybe he booked the tickets in October and is going down soon. When's Carnivale? The first question only got seven comments.

You can't say he's not enterprising. He might be better off finding a web forum of like minded folks if he's not interested in anything else.
posted by ardgedee at 6:38 AM on December 11, 2006

I believe Carnival falls in February. So there's only going to be ten more of these questions tops before he starts up again next October.

Plus, this part . . .

if you know anyone who needs an ipod, laptop, designer clothes or even a Playstation3 down there, let me know.

. . . is turning it into some sort of Brazilian-U.S. craigslist/ask.me mashup.

Unless he's just volunteering this stuff. In which case I could use a MacBook and I'll meet you at the border.

Carnivale is in February, same time as Mardi Gras.
posted by Brittanie at 6:49 AM on December 11, 2006

Technically, Mardi Gras is the last day of Carnivale. And the following day is Ash Wednesday, which marks the start of the Lenten season, when Catholics are supposed to abstain from all sorts of good shit and beg profuse forgiveness for the activities they did during Carnivale, which they would never have done if it weren't for the whole Lenten season of denial of the things they would normally just partake of moderately throughout the year.

This post was deleted for the following reason: you already asked this before and got answers.

Deja vu, all over again.

I know I'm going to regret this, but wtf?

This must be the famous MetaFilter Echo Chamber I've heard about so often. You know - the one the choir gets preached to in?

I'll go one further and say that all questions like this should be deleted. If we delete the illegal software download type questions, and questions about where to find and buy drugs than questions about selling black/grey market items should also be removed.
posted by edgeways at 1:24 PM on December 11, 2006

Yeah, it kind of seems like that should've been deleted the first time around, but it seemed innocent enough, I guess. Now it's obvious he's just a scammer.

Whoa, alvy. That's even weirder than the Brazil post.

Dear AskMe,

Does anyone know where I can get a black market PC with pirate Windows installed? And score dope?

Because if I had that setup, I'd be feeling really funky, and jonesing to post the Treaty of Westphalia all over the blue.

This only serves to confirm my theory that I'm the only real human using this website, and you folks are all just a bunch of computer programs.

and sometimes you screw up and say the same shit twice. Like the announcers in Madden '05.

and then call yerselves out on it.

martini time.
