This job post bugs me April 10, 2007 12:07 PM   Subscribe

This does not seem like an appropriate use of the jobs section. My attempt to flag it resulted in an error.

Not too sure what goes into a bug report, but here is some of the error info: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Incorrect syntax near 'from'.

In case this turns into a debate about whether or not it should have been flagged: In my opinion, Craigslist is an appropriate place for posts like this. Obviously the poster knows craigslist is the best place for this because he used a craigslist-generated email in the contact section. I'd hate to see the jobs section turn into a free-for-all dumping ground for things that don't fit in elsewhere but probably don't fit into the jobs section, either.

You're right. I removed it. I think we can fix the bug, thanks for the note.

I see the flag in France on the Google map is for a job in Vegas, since Jobs has come up as a topic.

This one is also borderline: if there is no pay, I don't think it belongs in Jobs.

A volunteer position itself is not a problem, I don't think.

I don't think a volunteer position is a problem, though I might be biased because I was seriously considering applying for that one. I don't think it is a problem in general since the volunteer option is a standard option on the job posting form.

In a lot of the personal help and how do I meet people questions, volunteering comes up quite often. What about a JobFilter sub section or a seperate section for VolunteerFilter.
"Hey, we're building a Habitat House this Friday. Contact me for more info and help out!"
It could use basically the same format and web resources as JobFilter, but with a different goal.

Did a metatalk post just get deleted or is that my imagination?

You're right: I hadn't seen this option. Sorry.

That job posting still has tags. Isn't removing the tags the norm for a deleted fpp or askme?
