Thoughtful, kind, smart, funny, and all 'round nice guy - in honor of his 500th post, I nominate homunculus as good MeFi citizen of the month!
Awesome. Homunculus has always been one of my favorite posters.

He's one of my favorite posters, too, vacapinta. I've never seen homunculus get embroiled in contentious back & forths - he's respectful and encouraging of other posters, something I particularly remember from when I was a noob. Another thing that I value is that he's a real contributor, just glance through a page of his comments - almost every comment comes with a link, and usually one well worth clicking.
OK, I guess I've made my point. I'm a fan ;-)

I agree completely.
He also has the knack of dropping in excellent supplementary links that enrich the discussion.
Not just one of my favorite posters, but one of my favorite mefites.

One of my favorite posters, as well. He's on the East Wall, next to Farah.

Oh yes, Homunculus has posted some awfully good stuff over the years, but let us not forget the contributions of Ms. JujuJive, both here and at the everlasting blort.

Interesting word, too:
homunculus |həˈmə ng kyələs; hō-| noun ( pl. -li |-ˌlī|or -les |-ˌlēz|) a very small human or humanoid creature. • historical- a supposed microscopic but fully formed human being from which a fetus was formerly believed to develop.

An enjoyable poster for me as well. How is he by the numbers, though?
In terms of commentary, homunculus is 0.577 delmoi.
In terms of FPPs, homunculus is 3.2676 delmoi.
Well done.

I always liked homunculus. He posts a little too much political stuff for my liking, but he is one the few people who does it well. He is clearly passionate about his beliefs but he is not obnoxious about it. I've always admired that about him. We could all learn from him in that regard.
Homunculus adds value to the site, so thank you to him.

He's awesome. I really like his political posts. And, like ericb and amberglow, he consistently adds interesting links and updates throughout the length of a thread, always a bonus. Hats off to you sir! (I appreciate his fine work at Devoter, too.)

An example to us all, congrats!
I would also like to take this opportunity to put forth the suggestion that delmoi becomes a new unit of measurement. "My moped gets fifteen miles to the delmoi!" or, "I waited thirty delmois before I got angry and went home," just sounds right.

juju, thank you. As an admirer of you and your posts, I'm flattered and pleased. And slightly embarassed.
No, really, I'm blushing. I do that a lot. It's a problem.

Hey, does this mean I get a Wii? Is that Star Wars game on Wii? I saw something about that. Or is it Playstation? I'd settle for a Playstation.*

I thought we'd established that delmoi is a Secret Service agent. Since they're agents of the Treasury, isn't using them as units of currency, measurment, or any other kind of unit a violation of federal law?

I'm all in favor of the delmoi unit of measurement, the only problem is it will be constantly changing. A sort of built in inflation, I guess.
Someone should write a little code so that we can have an interface to plug in numbers and have them converted delmoicly.
That would be keen.

We could establish a delmoi' baseline: choose some representative point in delmoi history and canonize that set of statistics as the basis for future measurement. Then we can have a solid foundation for future metrics, and can judge the drift of the system itself by tracking the the original delmoi specimen against his own baseline.

I like how you think cortex!
So long as there's also a Miguel’ baseline and a live Miguel that slowly drifts downward.
