Wow, that was really nice and clever. Thanks for posting this.

That's so weird, I was just posting about that on my blog for the sole purpose of this comment. It's like synchronicity without the happenstance.

I'm sorry, will somebody explain this callout to me?

Basically, gnfti is either into or fascinated by or ironically not into the darker side of breast play, see, and BECAUSE of that we need b1tr0t to cut back on the snarky youtubery in the green or we'll never finish backtagging before the Portland meetup.

self link! BAN HIM!

I banned myself once, but they sent me to the Principal's office and made me sign a paper that said I'd never do it again on the premises.

The fact that the linked collection of quotes contains not one of my many witticisms renders it suspect.

Wait, you people are all as drunk as me? It's MONDAY 6yiou louche fuckers!

I linkylinked to this in my spiffy new Tumblr linkything a couple of days ago with no idea that it was somehow Metafilter-related. Neato.

This callout makes a lot more sense after you force-reload the link.

This is not a callout. This is a Metatalk thread about something ostensibly Metafilter-related.

And (he said, mounting his old hobbyhorse again to tilt at word-windmills) the very use of the word 'callout' continues to chafe my taint like the devil's own sandblaster. It is now an ingrained part of the metaconciousness, I admit, but we could at least make a token attempt to limit its tumoury spread, and restrict our use of the accursed word to situations where it has some semblance of relevance to the topic at hand.

I thank you.

no idea that it was somehow Metafilter-related. Neato.

It wasn't Metafilter-related a couple of days ago. johnwcowan added those comments as they were made in the thread linking to his site. Best use of a 5-dolla noob in a long time.

*tries to imagine some nice inlaid taintwork*
Oh, and while we're asking for everyone to act the way one of us (who ain't hurt by numbers nor a jabba) wants, I think the word 'taint' is a pox on our language and should be eradicated along with every actual instance of taint and those who would dare to use it. Waste of space.

I would have used language more technical in my entirely accurate and not-at-all amusingly hyperbolic description of the condition of my battered, chapped perineum, my friend, but it was difficult to pass up the delightful euphony of 'chafed' as it harmonized in my mind with 'taint'. So, with all due respect, and in the friendliest of ways, I am compelled to suggest that you go fuck yourself in a tumble-dryer, old chap.

It wasn't Metafilter-related a couple of days ago.

Well, see, that's what I get for not paying attention.

(See, that's what zamboni should have said to me, of course, more or less, but noobs these days, they got no warp and weft to 'em; they're all squishy and fluttery and don't make that satisfying thunk when you whack on 'em.)

Heh, search that page for "Teletubby". Cowan's quite cool.

I, too, despise that neologistic and vulgar usage of the word taint. I also know some people who similarly despise that neologistic usage of hyperbolic, which I moderately employ—it's useful.

Don't be a choad, EB.

"How would he go about collecting the materials for his American Comédie Humaine? How, in some dingy Boston or New York loft, with his old wrap around him, would he so brew his coffee as to draw from it the Contes Drolatiques of neologistic Young America?"
