Congratulations on your first MetaTalk thread as well. It is the lamest MetaTalk post so far today!

Isn't this MetaTalk thread a double?!

Mazeltov, here's hoping they close this pigshit MeTa so you can get the twofer.

Congrats on your first closed MetaTalk thread!

You're welcome! Do you have a specific problem with the deletion that you feel would not be addressable via email?

We were just talking about this a couple threads back.

How could you delete that post? It already had tons of comments, and that's all that matters.

You know MeTa really isn't a "do over" spot for your deleted MeFi posts.

Your first time with cortex is always special. Usually, he sings you a little song before kicking your ass to the curb.

thanks carsonb! my personal goal of spreading lameness far and wide appears to be working, judging by your comment!

cortex: not really. i'm not too surprised by the deletion, really, looking back. although a case might be made that the newsfilter tag was supposed to mean that the post was related to a new development in a continuing news story (at least, that's how i meant it). but no, really, i just thought it was a noteworthy occasion that I'm no longer a deletion virgin.

That's two threads you've wasted my time with, now. Congrats!

Well -- in the 'reason for deletion' cortex did link to the "still-open-thread" on the topic. The update could have been added there.

I think this MeTa post justifies a timeout.

I find it hard to believe you thought at all.

also, now, no longer a metatalk virgin, assuming this doesn't get deleted too.

hey--i thought metatalk was supposed to be used for meta-talking about metafilter stuff? isn't that what i'm doing right now? if i'm doing it wrong, i apologize--really!

seriously though--i don't mean to dispute the deletion. i should probably have posted to the existing thread since it was so recent, as you pointed out.

You know, I never get tired of that attention whore.

saulgoodman, the three witches lied to you... cortex CAN ban your stupid ass, because he is "not of woman born."

It's not.

FYI.

wow--so much for my idealized vision of a bunch of us swapping 'first deletion' stories...

as for the implication up-thread that i'm attention whoring--ha! i could give a rat's ass about your attention, believe me.

Is it time to revisit this yet?

Another sure-fire hit from the Inane Clown Posse!

maybe i really did misunderstand--is MeTa exclusively to be used for whining and complaining about stuff, or can it also be used just to meta-talk about various MetaFilter related topics?
posted by saulgoodman at 12:37 PM on July 31, 2007

It is. But (and this may just be an indication that you should read Metatalk for a while before you make your next post) the way things have been going lately re: deletion complaints, your post here reads like you're picking a fight. A chatty "first deletion stories" thread might be fun (if decidedly Miguelesque), but your presentation, if unwittingly, totally sucked. No harm, no foul, but this should probably just be closed now.
