iPhone-filter (Metafilter App for iPhone)) August 21, 2007 11:11 PM   Subscribe

I made a MetaFilter application for the iPhone using iPhone Apper. You can see a preview of the icon, and download it here. I found some super easy instructions for installing 3rd party applications on shauninman.com. If someone wants to take a better shot at it, you can use my Photoshop template. I hope others with iPhones get some use out of this-- I like having my favorite website within easy reach!

By the way, this just opens the site in MobileSafari. I'm not talented enough to make something like Lights Off.

Looks cool, though I don't want to hack my iphone to install it. What's the app look like running on your phone? Or is it just a launcher for the blank area of the main menu?

Just a launcher. I should have made that more clear in the post! It's really nothing special, but I spent a long time trying and re-trying to getting the icon to display right. I thought I'd share the results.

Hacking the thing is a bitch, but custom ringtones were worth it for me.

It looks snazzy. If I had an iphone, I would use it. Feel free to buy me one and make me prove it. ; )

I'll second that.

No actually. Do not want.

I applaud customisation in general, but wow, it's *this* hard to add a simple shortcut to an iphone launch screen? It's like the spirit of Anti-Apple ][ Forever.
