MeFi post as callout August 15, 2000 7:50 PM   Subscribe

I think starting a new front-page thread just to call another user out is going too far, especially when said user explicitly asks to take it to e-mail.

It having been me, I must, alas, say "thanks, but I don't mind." I was trying to avoid topic drift. *I* didn't really think it merited a thread, but I don't object to it getting one.

I mean, some other people who weren't happy about me were real *shits* about it. cCranium wasn't, I don't think.

Calling baylink out was most definetely not my intention, and I heartily apologize for giving the impression I was attacking baylink, it wasn't my intent.

I wanted to debate the merits (if any) of Microsoft's software development, and it wasn't a part of the thread baylink originally posted to. Therefore, I created a new thread.

Baylink's "This is off-topic" comment was almost certainly a bit tongue-in-cheek, but it was also true, and I love getting other developers' and other users' takes on Microsoft's products, because I myself am constantly using them.

Again, I apologize if any thought I was attacking baylink, that most definetely was not my intent.

Well, I'm sure Baylink probably would have appreciated a link to site there, though. :0)

I've had this place used against me once, and it wasn't fun.

You're both pretty good guys, and Baylink takes more shit here than I know *I* ever would...

Well, if you two kids promise to play nice, and shake hands... we can chalk this up as "no harm, no foul", huh?

Case Dismissed!

Hell, I respect baylink more than most of the people on this board. He's a smart feller, and his views and opinions are awfully similar to my own.

Well, most of the time.

It honestly wasn't intended as a slight, I was just trying to preserve thread integrity.

(Cap'n, this threads at 90% off-topic! She canna take much morea this!)

I may *take* more shit, Eric, but it's probably because I *start* more shit, too. ;-)

(The ploy didn't work, BTW: no hits at all. :-()
