Did you know there's a Mefites for Obama group?

Over 3,500 calls made, nearly 6,000 blog posts (ah, what we do best), over $10,000 raised! If you're part of the social network that is the Barack Obama campaign, why not come on over and join this little group -- boost those stats, and whatnot. If you're an Obama supporter and haven't done anything for your candidate, why the hell not? Close the Palin thread and make a call or two (it's easy -- you can do it from the website, they give you a script).

I'd link the MeFites for Palin McCain group as well, but such a thing doesn't appear to exist.

That's pretty neat, I'm in. I still don't understand what the number on the "Activity Index" represents- anyone know?

Hmmm, another question- why is it that in the user directory, users are displayed by their profile Display Names, but in in Activity Index sections, users are displayed by their full names? That doesn't seem correct to me, shouldn't users be displayed by their selected Display Names throughout all group sections?

Yeah, I agree -- the site isn't exactly the gold standard for social networking. Nevertheless, I've started phonebanking for the campaign and it's made me fell 100x better than any comment I could ever post on the internet.

Did you know they're not assigning their donations to credit Mefites for Obama when they're writing their checks to the campaign?

This must be rectified immediately. I suggest, parmanparman, the only way to right this terrible wrong is for you to deduct your previous contributions to the Obama campaign by, right now, donating "-2,300" (seriously, try it, it works), signing yourself up at my.barackobama.com as parmanparman, join the MeFites for Obama group, set up a fundraising button on your personal blog, click on your own "Donate" button, and re-give the maximum. If at all possible, call the people you have already called, tell them you're sorry, that your stats had not updated correctly and that you will be re-contacting them shortly through the MeFites for Obama group to up our totals. And, of course, finally, when you step into that voting booth on November 4th, be sure to write in "Obama-MeFites" for president and vice president, as this is the only way for this group to be effective. It's the only way.

I didn't even see the Activity Tracker before. Before, I just cared about having a good president, but now I'm all annoyed that my stats aren't registering! Man, I could have leveled up by now if my "Doors Knocked" points were accurate!

Yeah, I was hoping to maybe alleviate some of that by getting people to stop commenting in a 12,000 comment thread and start actually doing something.

Nevermind that last comment... evidently it's quiet MeFites for Obama. Membership's doubled since yesterday!
