what's my community value?

Should I be looked down upon because I rarely post material (other than my own wacky point of view)? I am currently a freelancer and have a girlfriend, so I don't have a lot of time to discover interesting stuff on the Web (at least before everyone else has). Do I get deficiency-filling credit for organizing the NYC Mefi meet this Thursday?

You're way ahead of me, dude: I've posted a single FPP, and it's widely vilified as the mark of the end of the glory days of Mefi.

But I embrace my detractors. In any event, with so many vying to double-post Onion links, I think there is a place here for those who simply offer comment on the events of the day. Perhaps there are even some who look up to us, for our restraint.

I hereby propose that this sort of post should be referred to in the future as 'Pulling a Cardoso' and universally reviled.

(I mean the Old Scary Cardoso, not the New Socially-Integrated Cardoso.)
