irc.turlyming.net is the other server that you can use (irc.metafilter.com simply redirects you to it -- #mefi is hosted on the same server as #blogirc).

I'm moving the box that runs blogirc out of my apartment today, to a T1 line downtown. The owner of the box changed the DNS to the new IP, so as soon as I head out and set it up in the remote location, it'll work.

No. They are additive explanations for the lack of time to discover interesting stuff on the Web. In addition, the following is yet another constraint on time to find interesting stuff.
The spam is really getting to me these days.

Sorry, that just reminds me of my darker years when I would spend hour upon meaningless hour in the world of IRC. I would go so far to say that you're better off without any IRC, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
