The Follow-Up Thread March 17, 2009 1:11 AM   Subscribe

I thought I'd gather together some follow-up links for various things I thought were worth following up on since they were originally posted to the blue. Some things worth checking out, but not individually meaty enough for a whole new FPP.

Dave Secretary of TIME FOR SOME STORIES fame has started a blog with even more ALL CAPS delight. [original post]

Cursor*10 got an excellent sequel: Cursor*10 [2nd session]. [original post]

You Suck At Photoshop now has total of 21 episodes up on YouTube, in two "seasons" -- season one and season two, as well as the (less-inspired) offshoot Sn4tchbukl3r's Second Chance. [original post]

Bad News Hughes has closed up shop, and Patrick Hughes can now be found blundering through "adulthood" at The Domesticated Shithead. [original post]

Shane Acker's "9" is finally scheduled for theatrical release, on 9/9/09. Trailer is here. [original post]

Bill Hicks' previously unaired 1993 Letterman appearance was, as promised, finally aired on the January 30, 2009 episode of The Late Show. Parts one, two, and the actual routine in part three, are on YouTube. [original post]

This American Life released a third radio episode on the economy. Episode 375: Bad Bank reunites Alex Blumberg and NPR’s Adam Davidson, to continue in the vein of 355: The Giant Pool of Money and 365: Another Frightening Show About the Economy. [original post and follow-up]

Jan Van Den Hemel and Andrew Hussie's Star Trek: TNG Mashups have been joined by two Back to the Future mashups: BTTF - temporal experiment numbers One and Two, as well as continuing the original mission with numbers 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19. [original post]

Finally, my favorite: Fifty People, One Question now has four wonderful videos up. You can find One, Two, Three, and Four on Vimeo. [original post]

A couple others can be found under the followup tag. I'm sure there's lots more.

The 2nd Cursor 10 was an FPP not that long ago.

OTOH, here is the follow up to the Puzzlefarter game I posted!

Oh my god, how did I miss that post? Thanks for this!

Wow, I can't believe Letterman finally showed the performance. And although in the back of my mind I can't help but think it was just a ratings grab, the thing David said at the end to Bill's mother was, I thought, very sincere and incredibly humble. It gave me shivers.

Thanks for this post, churl.

TIME FOR SOME STORIES is so rad it not only gets it's own MeFi post but—count 'em—one, two and this, a third update.

In other words, your updating is good, but you should feel a little bad for updating us (again).

Suggestion: why not start a blog for this? It would be great!

OP Sitegeist was kind enough to memail me an alert when the sequel to the original Blocks with Letters On word puzzle game came out (original MeFi post here). This is a great, great, hard game and fabulous follow up. Don't even think about trying the sequel 'til you've played the original game!.

Great stuff, I really didn't want to know what happened to Mahir though.

If Levi had proposed to Bristol on the airplane on the conveyor belt, would their marriage have taken off?

It wouldn't matter. They were on a road to nowhere.

Damn it, people! Stop mentioning Dave Secretary! Every time you do I need to stay up until 3 in the morning trying not to wake my family with my laughter. I have stuff to do, OK?

WOW churl! The Bill Hicks video alone is a day-maker.

Ah! If the TV show Hicks joked about at the start only existed, we would have world without Miley.

churl, please check in at my place once you live in the area for one free beer for making my job so much nicer. Or wait for double coupon day and get two beers.

I too missed Boxes with Letters On the first time around, and have wasted my entire St. Patrick's Day playing through it while also wanting tho throw my laptop through the nearest window because of the incessant roll-over pop-ups.

Great, great game, though.

Navelgazer, I don't remember any pop-ups. Are you using adblock plus?

Here's one I just happened across. In January 2007 there was a post about Martin Strel swimming the full length of the Amazon River. Well, he completed the feat, in 66 days. Strel's story received the Best Cinematography Award at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

The Obamas are going to have a garden at the White house!!

But maybe not a farmer, per se. We'll need another update about that one.

Aw, shucks. You all spoil me.

Jessamyn dear, I thought you'd never ask.
