Deletion of Comcast FPP? February 13, 2002 10:53 AM   Subscribe

A FPP was posted today, regarding Comcast, but seems to have been 'disappeared.' Anybody know why? [my first post to MetaTalk, and I can't seem to find a tool for embedding a link, so here it is:]

I didn't see the post, but there was an earlier one on the same topic.

Generally if a post like that is deleted, there's a good chance it was a double -- in this case, you can use the Find function in your browser to find the earlier Comcast post.

The old link you mentioned, matpfeff, was for a different topic regarding the same company. Actually, the link today was an update: the previous post was regarding speculation about Comcast's port monitoring activity, etc., whereas the new post was about Comcast's copying behavior. The commentary was different, the topic was different.

Oh, and I see another thread here regarding linking. I'll try to remember that for next time (if there is one).

Sometimes, if the previous post/thread discussion is recent enough, people interested will be checking up on it...

So perhaps it would have been more appropriate to add that link as an addendum to the first discussion.

Just to be clear, I wasn't the one who FPP'd it. But I thought it was worthy enough to be an independent thread.

IT'S BECAUSE YOU CALLED IT AN FPP.

Dave, it's a jokey reference to Matt's dislike of the abbreviation FPP.

Whenever we get too close to the "truth" Matt is required by law to remove the thread.

I've seen a lot of items disappearing lately. Is it spring cleaning, or have I just noticed something that's been happening all along?

(How do I know they're going away? I use the MeFi super-action-bar and it doesn't appear to be 100% synced up with the front page.)
