Don't go to Sydney, baby if you know what's good for you, I have my fears it'll end in tears if you do September 1, 2009 10:11 PM Subscribe
Sydney meetup sometime between 24-27th of September?
I'll be in Sydney for a few days attending a workshop and wondered if anyone fancies meeting up? I'll be in Manly & should be free on the evenings of 24th, 25th & 26th from about 7pm for a dinner meetup?

Meetup sounds good. Does it have to be in Manly or can you make it to somewhere more central?

And evening! We tend to be afternoon meeter-uppers. If you make it somewhere near the city, I'll come along.
(And advance warning for the rest of yous: My best college friend and fellow MeFite emd3737 is coming out to visit in October! She's here from the October 9 - November 2, so we're gonna have to squeeze a meetup in there somewhere.)

I don't know my way around Sydney at all, but might be convinced to try my luck not getting lost if Manly is inconvenient. The workshop I'm attending runs 10am - 6pm over the four days & I was hoping to not stray too far from the hotel so I can get to bed at a decent hour. Giving & receiving bodywork for 8 hours a day is HARD WORK, you know, so I may be quite knackered and/or spaced out the whole time I'm in town anyway.

Count me interested but for the car-less like myself, Manly is a bunfight to get to.

Manly's OK to get to without a car, it costs you $6.40 and you get a nice ride on the harbour. It's getting back if you miss the ferry that's a pain in the arse.
I missed the ten-year meetup so I'd be super-keen to make this one, though like web-goddess and embrangled, nearer the city is better for me.

But I live where the sagebrush grows, fiasco, and want to get home before the witching hour...

Potential compromise: we could have dinner in the city, and one of us could meet goshling off the ferry at Circular Quay so she doesn't have to navigate a strange city alone.
Anyone know a good place to eat at that end of town?
