Sydney Meetup ?!
Your friendly robot (that's me) will be in Sydney for work for the next 2 weeks, I'd like to meet some of the local folks if anyone will be in the general area.. Schedule is likely to be a bit wonky but I'm hoping I'll have a couple of evenings free.

warning: trying to organise us is like herding kittens. declawed ones. on ice. and there's a blizzard and the kittens are pure white.
other than that, i'm sure we'd love to try to meet up.
probably easiest if you name the dates & times, and, er, tellurian can handle all the other details.

It's probably Gay Mardi Gras. It's always Gay Mardi Gras in Sydney. Or a bikie convention.

that armoured butt's not gonna soften in time for you to stuff it.
can i suggest using a power drill to ream out a hole, then a turkey baster to inject some vegemite aioli instead?

THIS IS WHY PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF US, YOU GUYS.
Sounds great, iamabot! Yeah, tellurian is a good organiser. Or if you can't reach him, I've got the big email list somewhere that he put together for the MeFi Tenth party. It's a good way of making sure people see this.
Can I put in a vote for Redoak? That's some good beer.

I was just going to show up and buy whomever else showed up large amounts of alcohol....
Ahem! I will work on getting something a little more solid together when I land in 16 hours and have re-oriented myself to the land of the backward flushing toilets.

Sydney was fun when I lived there, until I took my leave to improve Melbourne immeasurably. Now Brisbane is back on top and my feet are itchy! Ubu, do you have a granny flat?

Sounds great - Redoak included.
And here's a friendly tip: if you start feeling homesick, you can always make the toilets appear to flush in the familar direction, if you look up at the surface from below.
(i'm really not helping, am i? i blame turgid dahlia)

Recycling - what a brilliant idea!
And can you claim any carbon credits for their unused return airfares?

I hadn't thought of that. It'll certainly help mitigate the effects from the incinerator I use to get rid of their personal effects.

You guys are making me giggle so hard I might just try and join y'all. Might be hard, because I work all day on Saturdays now, but I'll see what I can do.
Hey, we should watch Sweeney Todd while we make pies!

What's up with you people, mail broken? Way to be un-hosts. Hope your stay was enjoyable and apologies, iamabot. We Sydneyites should all be wallowing in regret. It's not often we'll have the opportunity to meet a Professional Technology Mangler from California.
