Would anyone be willing to AskMe for me? May 29, 2010 3:45 PM   Subscribe

Does anyone have an AskMe they're not using?

I'd like to ask a question about an eBay auction re: a cello, so I figured AskMe would be a good resource, but the auction ends before my question time is up. Would anyone be willing to post it for me?

If it's kosher, I don't mind.

This sets a dangerous precedent. That said, I'm alright with it.

Q: What's the difference between a violin and a cello?

A1: The cello burns longer.
A2: The cello holds more beer.
A3: You can tune the violin.

Wow, bad timing. I bet you regret asking that question about watching other people eat.

Someone asked about this before, the mods weren't fans if I remember correctly.

Actually, my last question really helped in my last social situation so I'm pretty happy about the timing of that one.

Is it a grand gesture to anonymously give a woman I think is beautiful a cello?

Ask fewer questions.

Well, how about marking a best answer so we know what worked for you? Please?

Regardless of whether or not it's kosher to trade questions, that's a bit rude. The OP already made it clear that he's asked his (or her) question for the week, so what's the point of linking to it?

Maybe I'm misreading your intent, but it sounds to me like you're saying, "Boy, I bet you wish you hadn't asked THIS STUPID QUESTION!" and then linking to it so that we could all see how stupid it is and thus some public shaming could commence.

Sorry about that; I always feel bad about marking best answers in advice questions since usually all the advice is good... x.x

Please don't use Metatalk for this. If you really really need to have someone ask something for you and you want to bug someone you know and trust directly, that's a sort-of okay as a true one-off emergency thing, but we're not real big on it.

But this sort of openly-trading-questions-in-Metatalk thing is very much not okay and needs not not happen.

This is really really not what MeTa is for. Feel free to message users you know privately.
