Is it possible for me to get new posts with a particular tag sent directly to my email?

I never know where these half-Ask half-Meta questions should go, but I'd like to have a link or notification or something sent directly to my email inbox whenever something is posted to, e.g., http://www.metafilter.com/tags/toronto/rss. I've tried subscribing to the relevant rss, but I don't really use rss feeds and I can never seem to get in the habit doing so. Everything goes through my inbox. Can this happen? Thanks.

If this should go in Ask, sorry bout that.

We don't do anything like this, but a quick Google search turned up Feed My Inbox. Looks like you pop the feed URL in one field, your email address in the other and get new items delivered.

Click on a tag. It says:

211 posts tagged with rss. (View popular tags)

This is a fine place for it. Do you use gmail? If so you can do this with Google Reader which will look a lot like your inbox. If not, there are ways that you can get RSS feeds sent to you via email. The one I know the best is FeedMyInbox which is free for up to five feeds and will in fact email you new posts to that RSS feed.

You might be able to whip up something in Yahoo Pipes to do this.

item you may not have been drinking but I sure was when I posted and responded to this! In retrospect I'm pretty happy with my impersonation of a sober person and a sober person's concerns.
