We throttle to 30 per hour as a way to thwart spammers (which has worked in the past). 100 per hour sounds like way too many, can you just send a few in the morning and wait until later on to send more?

We didn't set it up to be an IM system for discussion between users, it's designed for occasional use so it has some hard set limits that go towards that goal.

I can't think of a situation where 100 sent mefimails in one hour would be composed of anything close to worthwhile content.

Start here.

"In his classic analysis of the [G]reek vase in “Das Ding,” to which Lacan refers in his Ethics of Psychoanalysis, Heidegger also emphasizes how the vase as an emblematic Thing is formed around a central void, that is, serves as the container of a void — so it is tempting to read the Greek vase and the Kinder chocolate egg together as designating the two moments of the Thing in the history of the West: the sacred Thing at its dawn, and the ridiculous merchandise at its end: the Kinder egg is our vase today. The greatest threat to America today is this void."

I don't know either, of course, but perhaps some people would have mentioned their open admiration of futuristic personal defense weapon design, and Loughner might have passed around the hypothetical FN P90 for group inspection, and then everyone would have sung some inspiring folk songs, together, in perfect tune.

Well, I can hope they would have all been in tune, can't I?

As for me, I'm all for fully automatic weapons in the hands of crazy people. A well armed asylum is the first line of defense against the vo i c e s .. .

I don't quite follow you, TwelveTwo. Why would well armed people ever go to an asylum, in the first place?

That's for them to know, and you to be shot.

Too soon, then, Burhanistan?

I get that, but, um, as for the specifics of your wish, eh, maybe, too late...

Why would they be shooting at me, TwelveTwo? Some of my best friends and closest relatives hear voices all the time, and to a man, they're most afraid of things they can not see...

Firearms? I think his shortarms keep him busy enough.

Giving rewards and positive reinforcement in return for receiving favorites.

And remember how criticisms of favorites were so easily dismissed?
