Why is this happening to me? April 10, 2002 9:33 AM   Subscribe

Any idea why this is presently happening on the front page? Is this caused the post, MetaFilter, or my browser? (Moz 0.9.9/Win2k.)

Hmmm... I think Mozilla was disgusted by what them rodents are doing two tabs over.

<blockquote><span class=smallcopy>* The nonhuman natives of Peninsula 4A, Lupus 23II, devote the greater part of their lives to the working of these slabs, which apparently have a religious significance. Twice each year, at the solstices, two hundred and twenty-four microscopically exact slabs are placed aboard a ceremonial barge, which is then allowed to drift out upon the ocean. The Lupus Salvage Company maintains a ship just over the horizon from peninsula 4A. As soon as the raft has drifted out of sight of land, it is recovered, the slabs are removed, exported and sold as objets d'art. </span></blockquote></i><div><div><span class=smallcopy>(Not for season ticket holders to The Short Attention Span Theater -More within)</span></div></div></div></div><br>

As you can see that's got two extra closing div tag.

riffola, taken out of context it might look like that, but if you look at the code for the whole post you will see that the DIVs are nested and that there is a closing DIV tag for every open one. All nested correctly. No extraneous tags.

I question nesting 'BLOCKQUOTE' within an 'I' tag or the lack of quotes around the 'CLASS' value, but I don't see those as a big deal. Maybe mozilla just doesn't like the way y2karl coded it.

Hmm, seems my count was off too. There actually is a closing DIV tag missing. There should be 5 closing DIV tags at the end there, not 4.

Disregard my last post. Too much coffee. I would now like to backpeddle to my original post...heh

Crazy Squirrel Porn XXX?

A little peek into Danelope's life... ;-)

Heh. I realized after I took the screencap that I had left the URL to my employer's site in a tab and, in the best interest of my continued employment, I figured I should probably remove it. The new caption is a little humor for anyone bothering to look at the image.

Or, I could just be making up excuses for an obsession with images of small rodents doing terrible things. You decide!

I decide the latter. Heh.

Oops, this is what happens when a guy clicks on view source on the front for what he wants to achieve--a block quote in small fonts in another post and then cuts and pastes in improvident improvisation. What do I know about < div>? (and why's it coming out lower case when I typed in caps?) Nada.

Well, if a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, I'm a suitcase bomb. Or at least I was until Matt resized me... ::whimper::

But why did it come out in that funny color, anyway?

Hmmm, there is Squirrel Porn, but there is no Crazy Squirrel Porn (Not with a specific phrase search, anyway.)

Of course, now that I've posted it on MeTa, it'll start turning up real soon. ;)
