What's the meetup record? October 11, 2012 2:12 PM   Subscribe

There are three (1, 2, 3) NYC meetups scheduled for next Saturday. Is that the same-day same-city record?

(Though one of them involves meeting in the city and then going hiking north of the city, so maybe it only counts as two.)

Don't know but it's damned inconvenient! I wanted to go to that dog meetup!

We're also going to be meeting in a secret location that you have to join the GoogleGroup to find out about (hint: the secret location is the googlegroup).

I wanna go to the puppy meetup but I want there to only be puppies and not people because I don't like people.

One is for dogs, one is for comic book geeks, and one is upstate.

∴ there are no actual (human) meetups in NYC on Saturday. Is 0 a record?

And this is why I need to visit New York

Crap that reminds me, I can't make it to the dog meetup. That I posted.

Is there a record for that happening? Because yeah.

(Apple can't make it either because she doesn't know how to take the train and If she wants cab fare she can get a damn job. Lazy, lazy puggle.)

I will be going to that Mefite comic book nerd meetup and not to the queer geek NYCC dance party called Snikt!

Look how mature and adult I have become.

Someone should Phil Collins their way to all three of them.

Uh, not it.

I can't decide if it's better or worse that I will be in town next week and not this one. That's a lot of meetupy competition either way.

Please send some of your meetup love to Seoul. You have way too much; we have none.

Talk to Joseph Gurl -- he's always trying to get me to make the trip up there for a meetup. Haven't seen him around much lately, though, come to think of it.

I'll admit, I'm curious about this whole comic con thing, but unfortunately I've got plans early in the morning tomorrow (Terry Fox run, come join! Only 5k! Central Park! 8am-930am to register there and race starts at 930am! More info here! And one last exclamation point for good luck!) so no going out tonight for me, and then it's a friend's 30th bday celebration tomorrow night. I'm hoping to see some of the cc peeps just wandering around the city.

A more important question is which of the meetup groups would win in a fight to the death? And is it too late to arrange this?

Goddammit, am I going to have to check a bag?

Most airlines will let you swap a personal carry-on for a melee weapon.

You just need a bag of holding carry-on.

If you're catching a ride with me and my plus one to Breakneck Ridge, the car is rather tiny, so checking a bag would be a sensible idea.

I like to think the SF cabalgroup would at least come in second.

I didn't make it to any of these three but we had an unofficial meetup yesterday where the MeFite that got me hooked on this place and I were IRL married. Our wedding was officiated by a MeFite and there were a few more in attendance.
