Metafilter links appear in USA Today? June 25, 2002 6:37 AM   Subscribe

Seems to me that this USA Today reporter just visited us and borrowed a few links - anyone else recognize several MeFi links in this article?

I think you'd have a hard time proving it: so many of those links appeared on so many other sites before and after MeFi. Some of them are even chestnuts by now, which would be my biggest gripe against the link collection. The second one would be: Why no active links? How hard is it to make an automated paging system recognize URLs and turn them into links? (Of course, they *are* missing the protocol).

Methinks there are many journalists who plumb MeFi for links.

I'm almost certain that NPR's "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" gets some of their 'wacky news items' from the 'Filter.

and did you know that adam felber (one of the hosts / guests of "wait, wait") has a blog that points to metafilter?

The Adam Felber weblog is hilarious. Someone should post that site to the front page. Someone other than me.
