Well I, for one, think that this is a horrifying development, and one that will inevitably lead to the destruction of our society.
No-one can possibly deny that baby-production levels at MeFi Heavy Industries seem to be at an all-time high. Not a month goes by without some delectable neonate making its triumphant debut on this site, inspiring us all with a triumphant backstory about its courageous defeat of the forces of non-existence. As a direct result, explosions of wholly-justified delight and boundless good-feeling are now occurring with outrageous frequency in the dank and dour abyss which once was MetaTalk.
And, as a recent addition to these frighteningly regular ejaculations of joy, we now find that "love" - at least in the United States of America - has "won". That's right - "love", which for so long was our utter and detested enemy - has marshalled its bright army and invaded our hither-to free and proud republic, conquering every foe and devouring all our most dear and sacred prejudices.
In that context, isn't it obvious that all conflict, strife and snark now seem threatened with ruin and extinction? But whither MetaTalk, in such a best-of-all-possible-worlds? Just as yin cannot exist without yang, and night cannot exist without rider, so too good cannot exist without at least a speck or thin smear of evil.
Luckily, we have the chance to vote for a thin smear of evil soon, in the 2016 elections. Thus I urge every MeFite to vote #1 quidnunc kid, and restore the balance to the force. I promise to be a disgusting stain on the underpants of your life, and thus to offset, in my small but unpleasantly-smelling way, the endless joy and best wishes we all now give to cabingirl and her lovely daughter Fiona Claire. Hooray!

Hello, Fiona. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, Fiona—God damn it, you've got to be kind.

Look at those happy faces! Even the cat seems cautiously optimistic (pro-tip: just explain that a baby throws off even more radiant heat than a freshly clipped shih tzu, and I guarantee they'll be naptime pals posthaste). Congrats!
