Ask.Metafilter question about Libraries of Things? January 24, 2020 3:59 PM   Subscribe

I thought there had been a post about what the best items were for a library to offer in their Library of Things, but I can't find it. Did I imagine it?

If I did imagine it, I'll post something to Ask myself, as I also want to request circulation stats and some other details. But if this thread existed, I'd love to read it before deciding whether to post my own.

Was it this question? Not exclusively about things, but answers of things-to-offer included cake pans, legos, 3d printers, tools and the like.

It’s not what I had in mind, but that may be the closest there really was.

I felt like there was one but maybe it was a MeFi post? Since I googled my own name and "cake pans" (my library lends these) and I can't imagine an AskMe thread going by without me talking about it. We had a survey in VT recently about what LoT stuff they offer, so I'd happily chime in.

On phone, but was it Libraries: Let them eat cake, from 2008 on the Blue?

Ah, here we go: Libraries: Let them eat cake. Maybe this is the one you were thinking of, jessamyn?

Also a good find; also not what I thought I’d read. Looks like if I want the thread I imagined, I should go ahead and post my question! I’ll touch base with the librarian this was for and see whether she’d find that helpful. Thanks, all!
