custom MetaFilter baseball t-shirts are now available November 2, 2002 4:45 PM Subscribe
No one asked for it, but I figured what the hell: custom MetaFilter baseball t-shirts are now available.
I would have suggested instead of a Script "Metafilter" on the front, a lovely "Fuckwit" would have sold better.
In either case, as soon as I get my paycheck I'm buyin.

You see those who's walking onto the field? They're gonna get eaten.
I might just order two: if I remember the old rubber band/tie dye tricks of yore, I should be able to make one of the jerseys into a "pinstripe" uniform (heh-heh)!

Teehee. 10947 is a long, long number. That's not even remotely the reserve bench - more like watching the game from another planet. Which of course I am.

Maybe I'll play it safe and order 7683 instead. Heck, everyone likes ColdChef. Who, by the way, got married today. Sorry if I've blown any cover, but I think that kind of news deserves a little shout-out here as well (in a subtle, buried-within-an-existing-thread kind of way).
Congratulations again, young lovers - may your love grow through the years, and may you always be each other's best friend.

You already have three of those, rushmc - what are you doing with them? Using them as dish clothes? Just don't expect any more packages if you are. Why, if we weren't old friends, I'd bet you were just keeping the vintage port bottles they come wrapped in and throwing them away. All that "to be closer to you" bullshit now rings sort of false...

This is off topice, and I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but that rabbit with the pancake on it's head that everyone is so fond of? Well, that thing on it's head is not a pancake. It's a Japanese sweet bun called "dorayaki", and consists of two flat sweetened pastry disks filled with usually red bean paste or custardy cream. You'll notice that the picture of Oolong (that's the rabbit's name) is even named "oolong-doriyaki". Granted, one element of doriyaki is sort of pancakey, but there is a significant difference, and I could stand by no longer and allow this injustice to be perpetrated.
Other animals also seem to like doriyaki....

Walsingham - you asshole. Did you really have to tell everyone that that wasn't really a pancake?? Was it really necessary?! Is it really that relevant? Are you just trying to find flaws everywhere?? That picture has been the single joy in my life recently, and now that I know it's not a pancake, it is very painful. So now you come in with your goddamn nitpicking and say, Oh it's actually a japanese food which isn't a pancake. Metafilter is all about pancakes, OK? So why don't you go back to wherever you came from and eat your dorayaki. It looks like a pancake, doesn't matter what you may think it is. So stop.

sgt.serenity - you can only put a photo up if it exists somewhere on the web. Mefi doesn't provide disk space for users to put stuff on.
If your photo is already on the web, follow these directions. If not, sorry.

"Wow y6, you're so cool because your post is sarcastic!"
No. I'm cool because my adventurous life rocks, everyone who's met me thinks I'm wonderful, women say I'm fantastic in bed, and I cook the best egg rolls on the whole f'ing planet. I'm cool because while everyone else whines about not having a cool life, I get off my ass, track cool down and party all night with it. I'm cool because I can pull all this off and still remain humble.
In short - I am cool *despite* being sarcastic.
[just kidding]

Medium is the smallest size? I'm swimming in those damn things. Apparently I'm the anti-Crash Davis (just as Nostradamus predicted). Crash, maybe we could switch lifestyles for a while?

Sarcasm aside, I call Central Japan home so I guess I can jump into the tangential thread to say that dorayaki may be two mini pancakes with some yummy sweet bean paste in the middle, but they are still most *definitely* pancakes.
And I'm eating one right now.
Back to the regularly scheduled thread...I want my user name on the shirt with jalbertson's number on it. I've been lurking since then, doesn't that count for something? What's that you say? NO? Fine, I'll just go back to lurking here and eating my dorayaki in silence.

Seriously, can we not get 3x or 4x in this one? Some of us are, you know, ample.

Ok, next, could we have custom shirts for our favourite threads? Number 1142 with Matt's sign where the name is supposed to go?

Matt, I'm pretty sure that if you made a 9622 thread shirt, there would be a lot of buyers.

Matt,
Got my MeFi Baseball jerseys today (i ordered two one blue, one black.) Nice, real nice.
The Cafe Press jerseys are better than the elen feiss t-shirts in quality, but not as good fabric as the sweat-X jerseys. Of course, the MeFi jerseys look a hell of a lot cooler.
Thanks Matt.
