I was apprehensive about posting this monstrosity - fearing it would create a little shitstorm - but a sense of patriotic duty (to protect freedom and democracy from creeping police state tendencies) compelled me, and I hit the post button......and then went to hang out with my mother while a big cancerous chunk of my father's colon was being cut out. Late Tuesday night, I drove my wrecked mother home after the (more or less) successful operation and was amazed to see - first - that Matt had cut out my last link (to the Miami cops tasering a demonstrator, presumably out of irritation that it didn't work). Then, he banished the second paragraph to the comments page. I had to laugh. Then, when he read the comments (or just checked the html) he restored the "taser" link!

In a strange sort of way I was touched. But then again - I've been a bit touched for a long, long time, at least since my parents did that aggressive interior lead paint removal project back in the mid 70's.........

Politics are so....so....political Maybe I should stop provoking controversy? - I guess my next post should be on the history and Talmudic commentary surrounding the historical and religious phenomenon of circumcision? No, that's too tame. Do people ever circumcise their cats and then wedge them into scanners?......hmmm.
