Have I Trolled? April 25, 2000 9:14 PM   Subscribe

Okay, I've been accused of trolling. Have I trolled? And what did I say that was a troll? I'll try to avoid it in the future if I've horribly offended the community. Mark likes Metafilter, and doesn't want to be noise in the signal.

That accusation almost certainly came from your forgetting to quote 'normal'... or so I thought.

Speaking of which, if Matt were to add a "post preview" to the comments section, I wouldn't heartily object. It might have saved me some embarassment this time around. This time. . .

yeah, previewing and editting is on the way.

BTW, I'm an atheist and getting married in the next year or so, and if there was anything I could do to be legally recognized as married, without any tinge of religious connotations, I'd do it in a second. Already, we're stripping out any mention of "god" from the proceedings.

So no, I didn't think you sounded like a troll. There's been some trolling comments in old homosexuality-themed threads, but those folks never came back to explain why they insisted gay marriage or homosexuality was "wrong."

A good way to get married and not worry about it seeming religious is to 1. do it in Vegas, and 2. not invite anyone. Worked for me anyhow.

We managed to get most of the religious content out of our wedding, but the name-giving ceremony of our son was another matter.

The celebrant couldn't help himself, and started throwning into the mix hellfire and damnation and other nasty stuff. At a name-giving!

Could of throttled him.

Matt: a civil wedding by a JP should fill your needs, I'd think. No?
