dash_slot, I think the point nthdegx was making was that your post is on the gray, thus clicking on the link doesn't technically take you to "this" (gray) page, but rather to the blue.

I know, I know...if you knew me in real life, you'd see a lot more of this sort of confusion. I'm sorry.
Does anyone have any light to shed on this outfit?

I'm sure it's the same story it always is; that Matt used to host their site and it's disappeared and now redirects to us.

Crikey - don't make too much fuss about it. Looks like another backdoor I can use to read mefi at work, for a few weeks at least!

dash-slot, did Konolia's comment get you investigating?
My 1st thought is that maybe someone is skimming google-ad pageviews. On preview, prentiz is probably correct. Cancel theB MattSignal.

I've explained this about a dozen times already, but here it is again: I hosted a lot of little sites for friends, and when I switched from IIS to Apache, I couldn't host a lot of them (since they were using ASP). Folks have left the domains pointing to this server, and since I'm not redirecting the domain requests to their sites, the default site comes up (which in this case is MetaFilter).
Go through the wayback machine if you want to see what any of these sites were. The sendbackliberty.us was a joke anti-france site where people supposedly signed a petition to give the statue back to france, and replace it with a giant statue of ronald reagan (which was funny last year, before he died).
I just hosted it, I didn't write any of it.

Could it be time for a Mefi FAQ to be hosted on-site, rather than solely at the wiki?
