What is metafilter.net? November 22, 2004 12:42 PM Subscribe
At the bottom of every page is a link to http://www.metafilter.net, which is the same as MetaFilter.com except you can't log in. Curious.
Um, even I can get into Metafilter DOT NET. Whoever this Pretty_Generic guy is, he must be a huge five dollar newbie.

klep: you can go to metafilter.net, click on the login link, enter your name and password, and when you are redirected to metafilter.net, you can post comments, etc?
Because I can't and that's what PG was referring too.

There used to be an index page to a so-called MetaFilter Network (of related sites, including Ticketstubs) at that URL. It must have gotten lost in the migration to the new servers and now redirects to MeFi. That's my guess.

It's almost certainly a cookie security issue. Site A shouldn't be able to share a cookie with Site B.
