blinding color blindness test link December 5, 2004 11:27 PM   Subscribe

Watch out for fatllama's link to a color blindness test in Keyser Soze's AskMe thread. It's not for the easily disturbed, or those looking for a quiet night of surfing. I should have recognized it from previous experience with it on the net, but I didn't and now metafilter doesn't have to either.

For those who want a little more information, it is a color blindness test for a few clicks, then a picture of a person covered with blood and a loud scream followed by a page about how you've just been "sabotaged". An old one, but perhaps some haven't seen it before.

I fixed it. All better.

Thanks, my apologies.

Why were you being a dick in the first place?

It comes up as the third hit in Google, and it was the first cool one. I'm willing to give fatllama the benefit of the doubt here.

Yeah, I've seen someone else link to the same thing inadvertently. (Could have sworn it was MeFi, but maybe it was somewhere else.) If you just Google for "color-blindness tests" and don't go all the way through it, you'd just think you were being helpful.

My apologies, then, for jumping to conclusions.

Well, now I want to see the blood. Is it gross?

For those that just tuned in, I remembered an online interactive color blindness test, and found this link [warning, gross "sabotage" link]. It looked familiar; I checked the first few frames to make sure the javascript worked and posted it and didn't notice the blatant sabotage in the link itself -- basically ideal sucker behavior. When I saw the responses to the comment I posted what I really intended. Matt was kind enough to rewrite history. Please chalk it up to inevitable noobness and remember the old saying.

My apologies too.

Just because I apologize too much, and this might turn into a hug fest and I'd feel left out.

Should this turn in to a hug fest, I'd like to apologise for that.

I'm sorry too... sorry you're all such jerks!

I looked at that "test" a while back but didn't get to the scary part. Then later I showed it to a friend of mine that is actually colorblind, just to see how he did. So ya, he was pretty upset to say the least.
