I've tried searching MeFi for similar requests, so please don't shoot me if this happens to have been requested before.

Anyhow, in the Ask MeFi section, wouldn't be handy if one could see the number of days one has to wait before being able to ask the next question?

I never thought it was totally necessary. You can look at the day you signed up or the exact time of your last posting, and just add 7 days exactly (168 hours to the second).

It may not be necessary, but would be cool to have!

Matt's a busy man, so it really wouldn't be fair to press for something that's not really necessary.

Just my 2 cents.

How often would you use this, that it would be faster for you to learn where it is and check it than simply check your own history and do the arithmetic? I can see the (highly constrained) utility in the idea, but it's so very, very not necessary.

You don't have to defend me, I just never thought a big blinking "you have 2 days, 4 hours, and 32 minutes until you can post!" was necessary.

I'm stuck with the limit too, and usually I just think "huh, guess I'll try back in a couple more days" whenever I'm blocked from asking a new one.

Well, while we're all here, what would be nice would be to be able to edit one's own MeFi post in case of an error.

Arithmetic? Bah! There are a million bells and whistles that could be coded for this site. I demand every one of them!

Matthowie shouldn't have to baby-sit MeFites. Those unable to remember when they last posted should be able to take a ball point pen and mark a calendar. Do I hear whinnying or whining?

Hey, why are you using a calendar at all? Shouldn't you be able to recall those few dates from memory? Automating stuff is a good thing, certainly when it's as simple to implement as this. The less I have on my mind, the better.

Of course, Matthew, I totally respect your decision, just trying to improve the site, you know. Have you considered assigning a few helpers to twiddle some bits when you're too busy?

Is that enough for you, little missy?

Just get lots of extra accounts. Get them in advance because of the waiting period. Plus, you can make up all sorts of great names. And Matt needs the money cause the server's all rickety.

See, it's all rickety ass. I posted the wrong comment, but I like saying rickety ass and blaming the server.

I'm stuck with the limit too...

Ha ha!

Anyone else notice that right after you post an AskMe question, you think of another? Or two?
