What about an option to display the last 10 or 20 most recently commented on posts?

Most recent!? What about an option to display the last 10 or 20 most recently commented on posts? If you counted the initial post as a comment it might be a way to a)save bandwidth and b) keep up on what's being discussed.

For me metafilter is about discussion, and this would be a great tool to cut through the clutter.

Oh, and a pony.

I think you can get what you want if you go up to that little dropdown box on the right and switch it over to "recent comments." Then your front page will be organized by the most recently commented on posts. You can change the number of posts it'll display in your user preferences somewhere, but I'm too lazy to go to my preferences page & tell you exactly what it is you'd need to change. Suffice to say, it's there.

Now as for the pony..

Screw ponies. Ananova recently reported that ponies are bred by muslims for the sole purpose of carrying explosives in their stomachs.

Just thought I'd give everyone heads up.
